Can you feel it? Things are shifting and changing (again). It’s been a strange year. But I suppose if we really pay attention it’s always strange/good /thrilling/peaceful/low- key/amazing/uplifting…what do you pay attention to?
Changes are coming. Changes are coming for me and for you in your life. For me, my changes are detailed in my ‘Inspire You’ Article below (and a new name for my website home that will be in my new design refresh in the coming months). It’s about time, right!
Part of these changes include a new space I will be teaching my classes out of! Soon I will be offering my classes at All Thing Magickal in Harrisville, RI. I’m so excited to announce this. The energy in this new space is amazing, magickal and so very healing. It feels like home to me. It may be the end of the year by the time the stars align for my first class dates to be announced in this new space, but I couldn’t wait to share. I’m bursting at the seams, as they say. 😉 When the stars align, I will share the dates with you all. For now, I am, as always, available in my personal space.
My favorite time of the year is Halloween. This is the time of year when the veil is the thinnest. The Other Side is easier to connect with. Take this time to connect with those loved ones that are now safely and happily living on the Other Side. This time of year brings many exits from this life to the next.
“Samhain (pronounced Sow-wen) is the third harvest, and means Summer’s End in Gaelic. It falls on Halloween night and is considered the end of the Celtic Year. On Samhain night, we stand at the space between seaosns, and in the heightened magick that connects the realms of the living and the dead.”
We see a lot more soul’s leaving the Earth. Their soul was called back for reasons beyond what we can fathom in our sadness here in this plain of existence. We recently lost a wonderful friend here and millions of us also were shocked to see Wayne Dyer cross over as well. His release from this world to the next was sad, shocking and bitter sweet. We know he is still making sure we all received his messages from his life here on Earth. He made sure as many of us heard him as he could, going on many mediums (like Hay House, Seminars, PBS, Oprah, Movies like ‘The Shift’, etc.). He was a light here and he continues to shine his light. Let’s honor those who have left, send them our love and follow the light within us till we can meet them again.
Energies this month: We just had our amazing and beautiful Full Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse September 27th. It was amazing! The energy intense. I hope you got to see it! To the right is a photo my Mother-in-law took of it. This past full moon is known as the Harvest Moon (being the full moon closest to the Autumn Equinox) but because of the full lunar eclipse it was also Blood Moon creating the pinkish-red hue over and around the moon. Also, very exciting is Mercury goes direct October 9th. It was a truly harsh retrograde for me this time, with many lessons and challenges all paying off (since I listened and took action) for the positive upliftment of my soul. But it will be a nice relief for a spell to breathe after this particular one.
Just for fun, and because crystals and stones have become my latest passion and obsession, here’s a nifty website on crystal and stone meanings: Crystal-Cure.com.
It is my desire that you enjoy this month’s Inspire You Article below, My Peeps (Kindred Spirits), the Yoga Pose of the Month and this month’s question for my Dear Maggie column, Healing Pituitary Tumor.

My Peeps (Kindred Spirits)
We all have our Peeps. On the Other Side and here on Earth we role with basically the same group of people from incarnation to incarnation. Our Soul Groups. We evolve and change always. Sometime people flow into your life for a short time and sometimes longer. But we all have our people. Those people that we resonate with. For instance: Yoga peeps, witchy peeps, spiritual peeps, Goddess peeps, Sports peeps, design peeps, music peeps, gaming peeps, fashion peeps, etc. We all have kindred spirits. These can be closer to on the surface kindred spirits or they can go much deeper, if we allow. It’s helpful to find and work with those people that you resonate with and enjoy their friendship, like-minded connections and fun you can have. Sometimes our kindred spirits can be so different from us, but there’s something they bring to the table that resonates with us and vice versa. Perhaps it’s simply friendship. And that is no simple thing. It’s powerful and amazing.
Our Kindred Spirits fight for us and we them, we may even sometimes fight with each other and still stand strong together. We can be honest with each other!
We need our peeps to make it through the day, the week, the year! There will be times of solitude and those times are when we can find our deepest connections to the Divine. But then, we need connection to Divine’s creations for us. Our soul connections.
Either way, hold on to those people as best you can while allowing each other to soar freely. These people…they support you, love you, laugh with you, cry with you. And they, and this is important, CALL YOU OUT ON YOUR SHIT. And that’s when you know you have a true friend.
There are levels to friendships. From acquaintances, to a nice connection but time for brief encounters, to deep life-long friendship connections. All are honored and filled with divine lessons.
We do have our Soul Mate Connections too. So I don’t want to confuse people into thinking Kindred Spirits and Soul Mates are one-in-the-same. The Soul Mate has a lot of definitions to it. It’s the deepest connection found on Earth. Our Twin Flame (confusing things a bit here) is sometimes referred in the same definition as a Soul Mate. The Twin Flame connection is not always found while on Earth. Often we here they are with you on the Other Side. Though some feel they are here on Earth to connect with you in this life. I believe all are possible outcomes. Some people are meant to have several Soul Mates in one life. And some are meant to find/connect/love their Twin flame in this life. Both feel like the: I need you like water, like breath like rain…God/Goddess Connection. But Twin Flames take it to a whole other cosmic level beyond anything you could ever possibly experience. Pretty amazing. Like you’ve found a piece of yourself that you knew on some level that was missing and then one day, he/she is there. But I’m here talking about Kindred Spirits and Soul Groups today (which can be pretty amazing and filled with deep connections in their own right). If you want to hear a little more about Twin Flame and Soul Mates, please click here.
I’m a very introverted person with some shyness issues to boot. I enjoy my time alone. I thrive on it. My soul deeply needs it to rejuvenate. But, like everyone else, there are times when we need our kindred spirits, to support us, listen to us, guide us, push us and to just laugh with us. These connections feed our soul.
I’ve recently received an energy healing session that told me I’m so far off my path it’s like a dry desert. I knew that felt right to me. I knew that’s why all these wonky health issues crept up “out of the blue” two years ago and why they kept on sneaking in. I ‘knew’ there was a small whisper I wasn’t listening to but just kept plugging away. I ignored it. I ignored MY VERY OWN ADVICE to everyone else. I’m human. I found my way to peace and divine connections and I’m finally finding my way back in again. I did have some times of connection during these brief years and many wonderful meditations and energy healing connections, but mostly not doing what I am meant to do as a career more full time. (My energy healings, soul coaching sessions, teaching metaphysical classes and yoga, etc.) And what’s more, during this session (with Tracy Calapai of All Things Magickal in Harrisville, MA) she reminded me that I needed to get back to my witchy self. I have so many spiritually eclectic interests and beliefs that my focus went into other interests for a while and I forgot to honor my witchy side more. The second she said that I felt the sadness of that truth. I miss my witchy Goddessy self as well. And since that day I’ve been doing all I can do to make sure I bring back that connection and flourish in the wonderful rituals, energy and meditations that come with this type of spiritual connection. I am re-centered my focus once again.
I’ve found more Goddess connections out there that have helped me, like Sage Goddess and her wonderful Blood Moon meditation ceremony during the Full Moon Eclipse last week and Goddess Central who gave me a free three minutes to remind me again with what Tracy said. It’s all perfectly divine. What’s amazing is they each separately see that within 5-6 months a big change is coming for me. I’m making those changes inside me now and I know this has to do with my divine expression and how I will be living more OUT LOUD now in my truest, witchy, Goddessy, yoga, peaceful meditative self. yay! I feel it. It’s a huge amazing change that is well overdo. Can’t you feel it? It’s happening to us all now. yay! That being said, I know this also means soooo many more divine connections to my Soul Group and Kindred Spirits. I’m excited to get and feel more deeply connection to my Peeps again.
That being said, soon I am including this new energy and vibrancy in my energy healing sessions, yoga classes, my yoga teacher training manual (that has been delayed divinely for this reason), and Soul Coaching Program, as well as offer readings again in the near future. I am excited to dive deeper into developing my mediumship skills as well as well learn more about crystals and stones. I’m just happy to have enthusiasm for what *I* resonate with. This also means a new name for my website home. I want it to feel like more of a sacred sanctuary enchanted with Witchy Goddess-like energy. So the new name (drum roll please) is going to be: Goddess Haven. (Yes, Dudes and Dudette’s alike are all welcome!) Life is short and sweet.
There’s just no more time to do what people think we “should” do. We are all unique and must fight for doing what WE desire as our passions and express THAT. This desire is what we are meant to share with the world. Follow YOUR compass Divinely.
Ask yourself what you can do now to connect more deeply within as well as with your Peeps too! Follow those interests and things that make you YOU! Your Soul Group follows naturally. Time to get excited again for life, connections to kindred spirits and living in the flow.
With enthusiasm and deeply healing connections, Happy Halloween.

I would like to be on your prayer list. I have recently found out I have a pituitary tumor so hoping for a bit of healing. I’m only young 39 so I’m not sure what all this means yet. I need some positive thoughts as I refuse to be the ‘sick’ person. What does your prayer list involve?
Peace and light,
Thank you for your email. I am so sorry to hear of the very challenging news you’ve received. You are definitely all set and on my bliss healing list. Every few days or so I send Divine Healing to all those that are on my Bliss Healing List. As you intend to be on the list consciously, the more easily the healing flows to you. You may choose to experience an in-person healing session with someone local to you so you can get an intense personal session all to yourself. It’s an indulgence for the soul and so needed every so often.
I find it “coincidental” that the tumor is on your pituitary. This is the area where it is said our psychic senses and/or extra sensory perception is located in the brain. And important to note for your future meditations, our Third Eye is the Chakra (located in the center of our forehead between the eyebrows) that direct our intuition and psychic senses. Have you done any meditating in the past? Here’s a quick piece of information from www.multidimensions.com that may help you in discerning elements in your life to work on:
“The pituitary gland is about the size of a pea and is located behind the center of our forehead, between our eyes. Therefore, the Sixth Chakra is often called the Brow Chakra. The pituitary gland is known as the master gland because it acts as a main control center that sends messages to all the other glands from its two lobes, the posterior and the anterior. The pituitary gland prompts the proper growth of glands and organs and regulates sexual development. The pituitary gland is called the “seat of the mind” with the frontal lobe regulating emotional thoughts such as poetry and music, and the anterior lobe regulating concrete thought and intellectual concepts. On the other hand, the pineal gland is known as the “seat of illumination, intuition and cosmic consciousness”. The pineal gland is to the pituitary gland what intuition is to reason.”
A good thing to begin with is to meditate. Daily. Ground yourself and cleanse your chakras. I found two free beautiful YouTube video’s for these you can do daily. I love these! Click here for Grounding (6 minutes). Click here for Chakra Cleansing (15 minutes). Reconnect with your Soul once again as often as you can. Your meditations will help you connect deeply within yourself as well as to come to acceptance of the diagnosis and to see where this will change and even bring enrichment and meaning to your life. We all have lessons and issues that are dealt to us as our blueprint for life. This is yours.
Own it. Be with it and love your pituitary gland. Love the lessons the tumor brings and then meditate on healing it. Send white light there. Send it love and ask that it be shrunk to oblivion, transmuted to divine light and filled with only love and light for your highest and best good always. Connect to your Third Eye and begin to receive divine communications from the Universe/Angels/God/Goddess/Guides, etc. These meditations, messages and this daily connection will help you heal in the way you are meant to.
It’s not just you going through this. Many around you will be challenged from your diagnosis. They will be brought to new thought processes, new lessons and hopefully those that bring meaning and healing to their lives as well. Ask in meditation, “What is the lesson you can learn from this?”. It’s nice to join a group of like-minded folk and it’s also just as nice to join a group that has nothing to do with your diagnosis but rather that of meditation or other things you enjoy immensely. Take this time to reflect and enjoy as much as possible.
Then, in meditation, ask God/Angels what course of action and inaction should you take? Follow the signs and synchronicities in your life as those are your messages from the Universe. Take up a new practice (yoga, tai chi, boot camp, hiking, etc. something new). Find the magic of life and the proof that we are energy and we do evolve and we do live on.
Please do keep in touch and let me know how you are doing! I wish you peace, clarity and healing.
Yoga Pose of the Month
Sanskrit: Chandra Namaskar
Photo of Maggie Anderson taken by Maggie Anderson
The Moon Salutation invites us to bow to and cultivate lunar energy for each soothing pose. (Click on the image to the right to see larger in a higher resolution.) This is a great sequence for when you are feeling more depleted or in the evening when you are ready to rest and unwind under the Moon. The Moon Salutation complements a yin yoga practice. You may, also, find it a great way to prepare the hips for a yin session targeting the liver.
The sun is yang relative to the moon. But, the moon is yang relative to the earth. Just as there are dozens of variations of Sun Salutations, there are many versions of Moon Salutations. The offering here is based on the Kripalu tradition as adapted by the Ra-Hoor-Khuit Network.
“When you can, practice Chandra Namaskar in the evening. Surya Namaskar is traditionally practiced at sunrise as a way to pay homage to the sun and to warm up the body for the coming day. It makes sense, then, to practice Chandra Namaskar in the evening when the moon is out. Not only is it a great way to prepare yourself for sleep, as yoga teacher and Yoga Journal contributing editor Richard Rosen points out, sunrise and sunset have always been considered powerful times for practicing hatha yoga. “During these times, there’s a balance between light and dark. It’s not day. It’s not night. You’re at a junction between the two,” he says. “This reflects internally in your body: Your hot and cold energies are also in balance. It’s a natural time to do the practice.” The idea of looking to the moon for rejuvenation is certainly not new. In fact, the Shiva Samhita, a 500-year-old Tantric text, regarded the moon as the source of immortality. Practitioners of Tantra (a form of yoga that preceded hatha yoga) believed that the “sun” was located in the solar plexus; the “moon,” in the crown of the head.”
Directions on how to come into this sequence:
Please, also, click on the image above to follow along visually how to come into this pose. For full text directions read below. Also, click on the individual pose links for a deeper look and direction into each pose:
1. Anjali Mudra Mountain: Stand in Tadasana. Root your feet, hug your thighs together, and lift your crown to the moon. Press palms together at elbow level in Anjali Mudra (prayer).
2. Half Moon Side Bends: Lift arms overhead, interlacing fingers, and pointing index fingers upward in temple mudra position. Root left foot and left hip, extending torso and bend to the right. Root right foot and right hip and, extending the torso, come back through center – bending to the left. Root left foot, return to center.
3. Goddess: Step to the right and point toes slightly outward. Soften knees and squat, lowering your sitting bones and your bent elbows downward. Either raise your hands and fingertips upward or flip the palms up toward the ceiling.
4. Five-Pointed Star: Root feet and straighten legs, keeping feet wide apart parallel to each other. Hug thighs to the middle and lift your crown skyward. Extend fingertips and arms at shoulder level. Extend the energy out the five points.
5. Triangle: Turn right toes to right. Extend your arms and torso over the right leg, going as far as you can go–reach, reach, reach. And then begin to cartwheel arms, right arm flow down and left flow upward. Elongate the spine.
6. Pyramid: Lower both hands toward right foot, folding over the right leg. Rest your hands on leg, foot, or on the floor. Root your feet and tighten your thighs, lifting your kneecaps. Spine is straight.
7. Lunge: Bend the forward (right) knee, bringing hands to floor on either side of front foot, and lower your back knee to floor (or optionally, keep the knee raised for more challenge). Root the right foot and top of the left foot into the floor.
8. Side Lunge/Wide Leg Squat: Bring both hands to the inside of the right foot, and lower your tailbone as you pivot the right foot to face forward, rotating the left leg so that toes point upward (more challenging is to point left foot forward). Bring your hands together in Anjali Mudra. If that is too challenging, keep the palms on the floor.
9. Squat: Bring the right leg toward center. Root your feet, lowering your tailbone. If flexibility allows, bring palms together at your heart. If your heels are lifted, don’t worry about it; you could try keeping the feet a little wider apart. Keep the knees and feet pointing in the same direction.
10. Side Lunge/Wide Leg Squat: With hands once again on the floor, extend the left leg to the left. Slide your torso toward the left foot. Bring your hands together in Anjali Mudra. If that is too challenging, keep the palms on the floor.
11. Lunge: Pivot to face the left knee, with hands on either side of the left foot, rotating the right leg and bringing the right knee to floor (or optionally, keep the knee raised for more challenge). Root the left foot and top of the right foot into the floor.
12. Pyramid: This time fold over the straightening left leg. Rest your hands on leg, foot, or the floor. Root your feet and tighten your thighs, lifting your kneecaps. Elongate the spine.
13. Triangle: Sweep right arm upward and back, sliding left hand along the left leg toward the ground. Spine straight. If necessary, take your hands up on your shin, thigh or a block in order to maintain a straight spine. Straight line from left to right hands.
14. Five-Pointed Star: Bring both arms to shoulder level, both feet parallel to each other. Root feet and straighten legs, keeping feet wide apart. Hug thighs to the middle and lift your crown skyward. Extend fingertips and arms at shoulder level.
15. Goddess: Turn toes slightly outward. Soften knees and squat, lowering your sitting bones and bend your elbows downward. Either raise your hands and fingertips upward or flip the palms up toward the ceiling.
16. Half Moon Side Bends: Straighten the legs and turn the toes forward. Step the left foot toward the right foot as you lift arms overhead, interlacing fingers and pointing index fingers upward in temple mudra position. Root right foot and right hip, extending torso, and bend to the left. Root left foot and left hip, extending torso, come back through center – bending to the right. Root right foot, returning to center.
17. Anjali Mudra Mountain: Complete the cycle by coming back to Tadasana. Root your feet, hug your thighs together, and lift your crown to the moon. Press palms together at elbow level in Anjali Mudra. Repeat the moon salutation as many times as you feel necessary.
When not to do this sequence or to modify/Contraindications:
Contraindications and modifications for each individual pose within the Moon Salutation sequence can be found on the individual pose pages (as linked above).
