Gentle Flow Yoga

A slow flow with a deep stretch. This class is for those looking for a gentler Hatha flow class with a calm and soothing healing flow. These classes will slow things down and are perfect for beginners, those with injuries, or those looking for a lighter practice. Enjoy a softer, nurturing, slow-paced, well-supported and relaxing practice. You will be led through carefully orchestrated movements, controlled pressure, and well-measured stretches, including range of motion exercises. Postures are approached in gradual steps, with plenty of time to focus on breathing and repetition so that the practice is simple to do and easy to remember. This class encourages a highly individualized approach to practice with on-going encouragement to make moment-to-moment adjustments.

This class is appropriate for all levels and a perfect place to start your yoga practice. It is ideal for people with movement limitations, or profound stiffness due to lack of activity; relief from disabilities and chronic conditions e.g., arthritis, back pain and other musculo-skeletal issues; recovery from surgery, illness or injury; for seniors, new practitioners, women who are pregnant and those seeking stress-reduction or weight management. Gentle yoga has even been found to be an important compliment in programs to reverse heart disease or provide relief from the challenging conditions of fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, as well as mood disorders. Yoga is just one of the many ways that can help to improve a person’s pain and to help them feel more relaxed if they are stressed. Unfortunately, the yoga workout may not provide them with the intended relief that they were initially looking for, and that is when they could look for some alternative options that could be considered alongside this workout. Some people decide to find a certain type of cannabis strain that will be able to effectively treat their health-related problems, (Click here to visit this page for more information on the options that are available to you). You may want to try this yoga workout first before deciding to consider other options, as this could help you to feel better.

The room is heated to 75(ish) degrees. Layers and socks are encouraged.

Yin Yoga
In yin yoga, poses are performed close to the earth, for 3-5 minutes per pose. Yin yoga works along the body’s meridian lines to massage and nurture the body’s fascia, bones, and ligaments. These are the same meridians used in the practice of acupuncture. Holding each pose for time creates the conditions necessary to cultivate an internal stillness of the body, breath, and mind This practice is extremely beneficial for digestion, muscle repair, osteoporosis and organ detoxification. The class itself is not easy, but your body, mind and spirit will feel at ease surrounded by flickering candlelight and soothing music. This is a great class if you are looking to improve flexibility, both physically and mentally.

This class is appropriate for all levels, even those brand new to yoga. In order to work in the deeper tissues, such as bones and ligaments, the room is kept cool, at 70(ish) degrees. For your comfort, layers and socks are encouraged.
Intensity: Gentle to Moderate

Gentle + Meditation (Yoga Nidra)
Extremely slow, all-levels class designed to balance an active practice or decompress after a stressful day. Passive postures are held for a longer period of time to initiate a deep relaxation of the body and mind. There is a small amount of movement in the beginning of class, to prepare the body for rest. Class will then transition to yoga nidra, which is “a powerful technique in which you learn to relax consciously. In yoga nidra, sleep is not regarded as relaxation. People feel that they are relaxing when they collapse in an easy chair with a cup of coffee, a drink or a cigarette, and read a newspaper or switch on the television. But this will never suffice as a scientific definition of relaxation. These are only sensory diversions. True relaxation is actually an experience far beyond all this. For absolute relaxation you must remain aware. This is yoga nidra, the state of dynamic sleep.”* Yoga Nidra has been compared to the healing benefits of 3-4 hours of REM sleep.
This class is for all levels and an excellent choice for those brand new to yoga and those seeking a deeply restorative experience.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

A mixed-level vinyasa class that moves in a continuous flow with a focus on improving balance, alignment and posture. You will leave feeling rejuvenated and energized, with an overall sense of well-being. Classes with Maggie will allow students to deepen and challenge their practice by exploring new ways to open the body and wake up the mind. Each class is different so come explore with us!
